■ Growing Expectations for Generative AI in Black-Boxed IBM i Environments
IBM i has supported core business operations for many years, boasting high reliability and stability. However, due to the aging workforce, lack of documentation, and repeated modifications, many companies find it difficult to grasp the overall picture of their systems.
Amidst this situation, the evolution of generative AI has rapidly raised expectations such as: 'Can black-boxed IBM i be visualized?' and 'Can modifications and maintenance be made more efficient?'
The potential for AI utilization is definitely expanding, including code analysis, specification generation, impact analysis, and test design. In fact, the GxP Group itself has introduced IBM watsonx Orchestrate to its HR department, achieving an approximately 83% reduction in application processing time, from PoC design to operation start, in about two months.

■ Before Leaping into Generative AI – Success Hinges on 'Current State Assessment' and 'Objective Design'
However, it is also true that many express, 'We don't know where to start.'
Without a clear understanding of the entire asset, unclear dependencies between programs, and business logic that relies on individual expertise—generative AI, powerful as it is, cannot be fully utilized. Even if one rushes to adopt tools based solely on hype and expectations, it may not yield desired results and could even cause confusion.
For example:
- Analyzing AI with sources without knowing which are active and which are dormant assets.
- Being unable to properly evaluate AI output because the scope of modification impact is not organized.
- Trying multiple AI tools but failing to establish them in the workplace because their purpose is ambiguous.
What is needed now is a 'practical roadmap' to accurately grasp the actual state of the system before applying AI, then clarify objectives, and gradually expand AI utilization by using different AI tools for different purposes.

■ Explaining the AI Utilization Process, from Asset State Assessment to Modification and Operational Establishment
This webinar will explain specific measures for generative AI utilization, not with AI implementation itself as the goal, but from the perspective of how to solve real problems such as knowledge transfer, advanced modifications, design information maintenance, and operational efficiency.
Specifically, it will organize the black-boxed IBM i environment into three stages: 'Understand,' 'Plan/Generate,' and 'Execute/Establish,' and clarify how appropriate tools can be assigned roles and cooperate in each stage.
X-Analysis, which visualizes the structure, dependencies, and impact scope of IBM i assets; IBM Bob, which supports requirements organization, design assistance, modification planning, specification generation, and code correction; and watsonx Orchestrate, which systemizes tasks such as applications, approvals, inquiry handling, and information sharing.
For these three distinct platforms, we will organize their strengths and the phases they cover, and delve into the meaning of their collaboration rather than standalone use.
GxP, as the master distributor for X-Analysis in Japan, with its long-standing expertise in supporting IBM i asset understanding, and its own experience in implementing and establishing watsonx Orchestrate, will now expand its offerings as a fused solution incorporating IBM Bob. This webinar will clearly introduce this concept and a realistic first step.

■ Recommended for people who:
- Are facing challenges with IBM i black-boxing or knowledge transfer.
- Want to reduce the burden of impact analysis and decision-making amidst increasing modification projects.
- Want to establish generative AI in practical operations, not just end it with PoC.
- Want to connect AI utilization to on-site results such as modifications, knowledge transfer, and operational improvements.
- Information systems department personnel who want to envision a concrete first step for what to start with in their own company.
