As cloud migration and zero-trust adoption progress, SASE implementation is spreading to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) In recent years, the expansion of cloud usage and remote work has led to increased interest in SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) based on zero-trust principles. While adoption has primarily been led by large corporations, there is a growing trend among SMEs to seek a balance between enhanced security and operational efficiency. However, given limited personnel and budget constraints, it is not realistic for these companies to adopt complex configurations or high-priced SASE solutions as they are. There is a pressing need for a "right-sized SASE" tailored to the needs of SMEs.
High-functionality, high-cost SASE solutions are disconnected from field operations While existing SASE solutions are highly functional, their licensing costs and configuration complexity act as barriers to entry. In particular, many SMEs find themselves in situations where they must continue using existing VPNs for the time being. Furthermore, many SASE solutions cannot adequately address practical operational requirements, such as communication between branch offices or between systems. Meanwhile, SMEs face high risks from "shadow IT," which requires prompt attention. As a result, a significant gap has emerged between "ideal security concepts" and "mechanisms that are actually feasible in the field."
Explaining SASE implementation patterns for SMEs, including coexistence with existing VPNs and identifying shadow IT This seminar will explain realistic SASE implementation patterns for SMEs that allow for a phased transition to zero-trust while maintaining existing VPN networks and shared account operations. We will also introduce "KAMOME SASE," which narrows down the functions necessary for SMEs to improve security standards while keeping costs low. Additionally, we will present flexible configuration examples, such as support for communication between branch offices and systems. This content does not focus on theory, but rather provides concrete, "ready-to-implement" SASE operations for the field.
