SASE Adoption Spreading to SMEs Amidst Cloud Migration and Zero Trust Acceleration In recent years, interest in SASE (Secure Access Service Edge), based on Zero Trust, has grown with the expansion of cloud utilization and remote work. While adoption has primarily progressed among large enterprises, there is now an accelerated demand among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for both enhanced security and operational efficiency. However, it is not realistic for SMEs to implement complex and expensive SASE solutions as they are, given limited personnel and cost constraints. There is an urgent need for "right-sized SASE" tailored for SMEs.
High-function, High-cost SASE Disconnects from On-site Operations Existing SASE solutions, while highly functional, face adoption barriers due to license costs and configuration complexity. Particularly for SMEs, there are many cases where they are forced to concurrently use existing VPNs for the time being. Furthermore, many SASE solutions cannot fully address realistic operational requirements such as inter-branch and inter-system communications. Meanwhile, SMEs face a high risk of "shadow IT," demanding swift action. As a result, a significant gap emerges between "ideal security concepts" and "mechanisms achievable in the field."
Explaining SASE Implementation Patterns for SMEs, Including Coexistence with Existing VPNs and Identification of Shadow IT This seminar will explain realistic SASE implementation patterns for SMEs, which involve gradually advancing Zero Trust while maintaining existing VPN networks and shared account operations. It will also introduce "KAMOME SASE," which focuses on the necessary functions for SMEs to enhance security levels while controlling costs. Additionally, flexible configuration examples, such as support for inter-branch and inter-system communications, will be presented. The content will concretely demonstrate "SASE operations that can be started today" in the field, rather than just theoretical ideals.
