About "Signal Flag K"
This book collects essays that were serialized in the magazine "GINZA," where the author visited and conversed with guests from various fields, from those she was meeting for the first time to those she had deep connections with, under the title "Signal Flag K," which means "I want to communicate with you" using an International Signal Flag.
The dialogues were with a wide range of people across different ages and genres, including musician Haruomi Hosono, writer Sayaka Murata, artist Yuko Mohri, and fashion designer Maiko Kurogouchi. For this book publication, a new visit and writing were done with musician Ichiko Aoba.
Sometimes, the author visits not only people but also places that hold significance.
She delicately and meticulously records the time spent and memories with someone in a certain place from her unique perspective.
