Storyteller bus tour guided by a Taiwanese native (Minamisanriku Hospital)

The Minamisanriku Tourism Association (Minamisanriku-cho, Miyagi Prefecture) will host a "Disaster Prevention Junior Leader" training delegation of Taiwanese students to conduct a disaster prevention learning program in the affected areas 15 years after the Great East Japan Earthquake.

This training is conducted as part of an educational trip aimed at raising disaster prevention awareness through exchanges with local residents and nature experiences while learning the experiences and lessons of the earthquake. Participants will experience homestays in Minamisanriku, learning about disaster prevention while touching upon local life and culture.

In addition, through guidance by storyteller guides conveying memories of the disaster and hands-on programs utilizing the local natural environment, it provides an opportunity to learn the wisdom and efforts of a community living alongside disasters.

Through such educational trips, Minamisanriku aims to convey the lessons of the earthquake to the younger generation overseas and promote international understanding through interaction with the local community.
