LINE Yahoo Corporation (hereinafter 'LINE Yahoo') held its technology conference 'Tech-Verse 2026' on Monday, June 29, 2026. Engineers from LINE Yahoo and its group companies, including overseas entities, delivered 15 sessions (presentations) centered on the themes of 'AI' and 'Core Technology'.
At the opening keynote, Park Ibin, Senior Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of LINE Yahoo, and Ryota Namiki, AI CBU Lead, took the stage. They discussed LINE Yahoo's technical strategy for shaping the future of innovation, including the 'AX (AI Transformation)' initiative, which aims to transform development environments and the organization itself to be AI-first.

The keynote began with an introduction of 'Agent i,' LINE Yahoo's generative AI brand launched in April 2026. Centered on the concept of 'AI for everyone, every day,' Agent i currently offers 22 cumulative domains of AI agents that support daily life, such as 'Shopping,' 'Going Out,' and 'Recipes.' The developers shared their vision of evolving the AI experience to a stage where 'needed information appears before users even search,' by linking multiple AI agents within Agent i to better understand user intent—ultimately delivering convenience at every moment of daily life—alongside concrete feature demonstrations.
Next, they explained the technological infrastructure supporting the development of products like Agent i. To rapidly create numerous AI agents, democratizing development is essential. Under this philosophy, they developed 'Agent Builder,' a tool that enables even non-AI-specialist engineers to launch an AI agent within a day. They also created complementary tools that allow AI agents to easily connect to internal data and APIs, while tracking who connected what—simultaneously achieving 'speed, safety, and governance.' Additionally, they introduced concepts aimed at enabling highly personalized responses from AI agents, such as 'Long-term Memory,' which selectively preserves conversation history with users over the long term, and 'Memory Aggregator,' which dynamically links Agent i conversations with usage data from LINE and Yahoo! JAPAN services to instantly deliver optimal responses without prompts.
Furthermore, the organizations developing diverse products like Agent i must also evolve toward an AI-first model (AX). For LINE Yahoo, with over 30 years of history and more than 100 services, AX represents a major challenge. They shared that they are strategically and progressively advancing AX through a five-stage plan. After transforming internal 'systems, data,' and 'people' through AX, the next core concept is 'AI-driven development.' In this model, AI is not just an auxiliary tool but is integrated into every stage of development, with particular emphasis on AX in the planning and design phases—more critical than coding. By structuring internal documents into AI-understandable formats and visualizing relationships between services, they are advancing AX at the planning and design stages. As a result of various initiatives, AI-generated code now accounts for 20% of the total codebase across their long-operating large-scale systems. In 2026, they will further accelerate AX, shifting from individual productivity gains to enhancing productivity at the organizational and service levels.
LINE Yahoo operates under the mission of 'WOW Our Users!' and is committed to creating services that deliver experiences beyond users' imagination. Moving forward, they will continue to accelerate product development and talent cultivation in the AI domain, contributing to a richer and more convenient lifestyle through the power of the internet.
