LINE Yahoo Corporation (hereinafter, LINE Yahoo) held the technical conference "Tech-Verse 2026" on Monday, June 29, 2026. Engineers from LINE Yahoo and its group companies, including overseas subsidiaries, conducted 15 sessions (presentations) on the themes of "AI" and "Core Technology."

In the Keynote at the beginning of the conference, LINE Yahoo's Senior Executive Officer, CTO (Chief Technology Officer) Park Ibin, and AI CBU Lead Ryota Namiki took the stage. They discussed LINE Yahoo's technology strategy for pioneering the future of new product development, including the "AX (AI Transformation)" initiative to transform development environments and the organization itself to be AI-first.

The Keynote first introduced "Agent i," the generative AI brand announced by LINE Yahoo in April 2026. With the concept of "AI that everyone can use, by your side every day," Agent i deploys AI agents in a cumulative 22 domains to support daily life, such as "Shopping," "Going Out," and "Recipes." The developers shared their aspirations to evolve the AI experience to a stage where "necessary things appear before you search for them" and to deliver convenience in every moment of daily life by linking numerous AI agents within Agent i and better understanding user intent, along with specific feature introductions.

Next, they explained the technological foundation supporting product development, including Agent i. To create numerous AI agents in a short period, development democratization is essential. Based on this idea, they developed "Agent Builder," a tool that allows even non-AI specialists to launch an AI agent in one day. They also developed tools to easily connect AI agents to internal data and APIs, as well as tools to track who connected what to what, simultaneously achieving "speed, safety, and governance." Furthermore, as a challenge to realize highly personalized answers by AI agents, they introduced concepts such as "Long-term Memory," which selectively stores and appropriately retains user conversation history for the long term, and "Memory Aggregator," which instantly provides optimal answers by linking Agent i conversations with LINE and Yahoo! JAPAN service usage data on demand, without the need for prompts.

Moreover, the organization developing various products, including Agent i, is also required to evolve (AX) to be AI-first. For LINE Yahoo, with over 30 years of history and more than 100 services, AX is a major challenge, and they introduced a five-stage plan to proceed strategically and incrementally. After the stages of AX for internal "Systems and Data" and "People," the next core concept is "AI-driven development." In AI-driven development, where AI is integrated into each stage of development rather than remaining an auxiliary tool, AX in the planning and design phases is more crucial than coding. They are promoting AX in the planning and design phases by structuring internal documents in a format that AI can understand and visualizing relationships between services. As a result of various initiatives, the amount of code written by AI has reached 20% of the total in the past year, even within large-scale system groups that have been operated for a long time. In 2026, we will further accelerate AX from individual productivity improvement to organizational and service-level productivity improvement.

LINE Yahoo's mission is "WOW Our Users!" and they are promoting the creation of services that deliver experiences beyond user imagination. They will continue to accelerate product development and human resource development in the AI domain, and contribute to the realization of a richer and more convenient life through the power of the internet.
