Background Leading to the Implementation of PLM 'Aras Innovator'

In Japan's manufacturing industry, the importance of promoting DX is increasing due to intensifying international competition and diversifying market needs. However, many challenges remain, including cross-departmental data utilization, optimization of business processes, and addressing labor shortages.

The client supported by Luvina Software in this project is a Japanese SIer whose main customers are companies in the automotive, industrial machinery, consumer goods, and energy sectors. This SIer's end clients required integrated solutions for document management, BOM management, and enterprise resource management. The collaboration with Luvina Software was decided through this highly trusted Japanese SIer within the industry.

Against this backdrop, the following challenges were observed before the start of this project:

Inefficiency due to system fragmentation: Core business operations such as accounting, inventory management, and production management were operated on separate systems, making centralized data management impossible and incurring significant costs for maintaining data consistency.

Lack of a PLM foundation: There was no integrated platform to manage the entire product lifecycle, from R&D to design, testing, manufacturing, and maintenance, leading to increased risks of product defects and a slowdown in time-to-market.

Shortage of in-house DX personnel: The number of personnel proficient in digital technologies while understanding the realities of the manufacturing floor was extremely limited, making it difficult to implement and operate modern management systems while meeting security requirements.

To fundamentally resolve these issues, the adoption of 'Aras Innovator', which has extensive implementation experience in global manufacturing companies, and consistent support from Luvina Software were decided.
