Luup, Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Daiki Okai; hereinafter "Luup") is pleased to announce that, as part of "LUUP for Community"—a service that allows local governments, companies, and organizations to introduce and operate "LUUP" in their regions—it will provide the micro-mobility sharing service "LUUP" in Asahi Town, Toyama Prefecture, for a limited time from April 1, 2026 (Wednesday) to April 30, 2026 (Thursday), in cooperation with a local demonstration experiment. Background With the mission of "creating an infrastructure that makes the entire city a 'station front'," Luup has been operating the "LUUP" micro-mobility sharing service since 2020 to solve transportation issues across Japan. By comprehensively handling electric, compact, and single-person mobility, we aim to establish first- and last-mile transportation and create a future where everyone can move freely. Asahi Town, located at the eastern end of Toyama Prefecture, is a region with rich topography, ranging from sea level to 3,000 meters, stretching from the Northern Alps to Toyama Bay. The beautiful coastline where jade washes ashore attracts many visitors. The "Spring Quartet," where flowers bloom against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains, is another major attraction. While the town is dotted with appealing tourist resources, a lack of secondary transportation from major stations remains a challenge. To address this and improve mobility within the region, LUUP will be introduced as a demonstration experiment to serve as a new means of facilitating smooth travel between spots. Through this initiative, we aim to contribute to the revitalization of the entire region. Comment from Mr. Fumitoshi Takeuchi, President of Rakuchino / Asahi Furusato Creation Co., Ltd. The Spring Quartet in Asahi Town is a tourist resource that Japan is proud of, attracting over 110,000 visitors in just two weeks. Thanks to everyone, Rakuchino (a multi-purpose exchange facility equipped with hot springs, a heated pool, and a restaurant) also welcomes many guests and becomes extremely busy during this period. However, we face the challenge that "visitors come for the Spring Quartet but leave immediately without spending time in the town center, making it difficult to build lasting connections," which limits the economic impact on the town.
