Summer is finally here in full swing. To deliver a refreshing and soothing experience during the hot days, a selection of carefully chosen local ice creams from all over Japan is gathering in Okayama.
For 20 days, from Wednesday, July 8 to Monday, July 27, 2026, Japan's largest ice cream event with over 4.5 million total visitors, the "Ice Cream Expo 'Aipaku® OKAYAMA 2026,'" will be held at the 7th-floor event hall of Okayama's landmark department store, Tenmaya Okayama Main Store.
This is the first time the event will be held at Okayama Tenmaya. Local ice creams and popular products from across the country, rarely seen in Okayama, will come together to offer a special ice cream experience unique to this summer.
### Over 31 Brands and 100 Types of Local Ice Cream
The event will feature a lineup of unique local ice creams and trending products from all over Japan, carefully selected by the Japan Ice Mania Association, a group of ice cream enthusiasts led by critic Iceman Fukutome, who consumes over 1,000 types of ice cream annually. Visitors can enjoy a world of local ice cream filled with regional charm and producers' passion, including rich soft-serve ice cream available only at Hokkaido farms and long-selling local favorites.
