Itabashi Ward Symphonic Band's 40th Anniversary Concert to be Held on June 21, Featuring Audience Participation and Guest Violinist Yasunao Ishida

Hosted by the Itabashi Culture and International Exchange Foundation, the "Itabashi Ward Symphonic Band 40th Regular Concert" will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the Itabashi Ward Cultural Hall Main Hall. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, May 18, through Confetti (operated by Longrun Planning Inc., Shinjuku, Tokyo, CEO: Daigo Kurematsu). This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Itabashi Ward Symphonic Band. This 40th commemorative concert will celebrate the anniversary year with a spectacular guest and special programs. The guest stage will feature the fiery violinist Yasunao Ishida (Principal Solo Concertmaster of the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, Solo Concertmaster of the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra) for a brilliant and energetic performance. The combination of Ishida's beautiful and passionate violin with the symphonic band, and arrangements of famous pieces by Music Director and Principal Conductor Koichi Ohashi (Composer/Arranger, Part-time Lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts, Music Advisor to the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra) is a must-see. The special program stage, titled "A 40-Year Retrospective Stage," will feature medleys of famous songs from anime, TV commercials, and more. A key highlight is the "Karaoke Popularity Vote Medley," a staple of the band's concerts, where the audience decides the songs to be performed through prior voting. It's a thrilling stage where the program isn't known until the day of the concert.
