Longchamp, the Parisian maison brand founded in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, which blends authenticity and energy, is celebrating its third year of collaboration with LANA ANAKA, a Madagascan NGO dedicated to supporting children's education and women's empowerment. The "Le Roseau Filet Raphia" collection and accessories, which celebrate the savoir-faire of both the maison and Madagascar, are now available worldwide. In Japan, they will be sold at the official online store, Longchamp La Maison Omotesando, Longchamp La Maison Ginza, and boutiques nationwide.
Longchamp aims for a sustainable future through the tradition and innovation nurtured in Paris, its birthplace, and is committed to supporting women, art, and young talent. Madagascar, an island nation rich in natural resources and home to LANA ANAKA, has indigenous handicrafts, many of which are passed down by women. From generation to generation, they have acquired exceptional skills in handling plant fibers, using techniques such such as weaving, crocheting, embroidery, and basketry. From this tradition, the atelier LANA was born, creating fashion accessories from natural fibers like raffia, straw, sisal, and cotton using traditional methods. In 2020, Narindra Robin, the founder of the atelier, established the NGO LANA ANAKA to promote women's employment, children's education, and environmental protection in Madagascar. Through its cooperation with the maison, it provides Madagascan women with equal employment opportunities, inclusion, and training. Currently, 40 artisans, mostly women, are employed full-time at LANA, earning a living through their exceptional skills. Additionally, 66 children attend school, gaining access to education, medical care, food, and clothing essential for their healthy development.
The "Le Roseau Raphia" tote bag is entirely hand-crocheted from natural raffia by LANA artisans, adorned with a leather handle embodying the maison's savoir-faire and an iconic "bamboo" wooden toggle. Hats and key rings are also meticulously hand-knitted, adding individuality to summer outfits and giving "modern Parisian women" a light and relaxed style.

[About Longchamp] Founded in Paris, France in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, Longchamp is a maison brand that blends authenticity and energy. Starting with the world's first luxury leather-wrapped pipe, it has expanded into travel accessories, handbags, ready-to-wear, eyewear, and footwear, evolving into a global brand while adhering to a heritage passed down through generations. Currently, under the third-generation creative director Sophie Delafontaine, Longchamp reinterprets the French aesthetic of living with a unique twist, continuously promoting the style of the "Longchamp Woman" who embodies the "joie de vivre" (joy of living) of modern Parisian women. Furthermore, with the motto "We produce, we care, we repair," Longchamp promotes sustainability, earnestly engaging in manufacturing primarily at its atelier in Segré, France. In 2026, Longchamp obtained B Corp™ certification, demonstrating its commitment to society and the environment and reaffirming its pledge to strict and responsible actions. Recycling, repair, and passing on to the next generation, along with caring for employees, promoting fairness, and supporting creativity, reflect the maison's 75-year unwavering commitment to sustainability and a future-oriented approach. Longchamp, which upholds the family business tradition for four generations, is still owned and managed by the Cassegrain family, with over 400 directly managed boutiques in 80 countries worldwide. In Japan, the flagship store "Longchamp La Maison Omotesando" opened in September 2017, followed by "Longchamp La Maison Ginza" in July 2019, and it now boasts 38 stores nationwide (as of December 2025).
