Shinkansen Akabeko Painting Experience to be Held at JR Fukushima Station!

JR East Tohoku General Service Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, Representative Director: Toshiyuki Hazama), in collaboration with Akabeko Land in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture, will hold a "Shinkansen Akabeko Painting Experience" at Power City Pivot, JR Fukushima Station West Exit. The event will be held on weekends from April to May 2026 and on Children's Day, May 5th. In conjunction with the "Fukushima Destination Campaign" starting in April, we hope that visitors to Fukushima will feel the charm of Fukushima Prefecture through the Akabeko painting experience, a traditional craft of Fukushima Prefecture.

Advance registration for this workshop will be conducted via JRE MALL Ticket "Tohoku MONO WEB SHOP". We sincerely look forward to your participation.

## 1. Workshop Overview

Dates: Weekends from April to May 2026, and May 5th (Children's Day)

Time for each day: 4 sessions in total, approximately 1 hour 30 minutes per session *Capacity of 20 people per session
- 1st session 10:00-11:30
- 2nd session 11:30-13:00
- 3rd session 13:00-14:30
- 4th session 14:30-16:00

Location: Power City Pivot, JR Fukushima Station West Exit

What to bring: Nothing (brushes and paints will be provided by the organizer)

*Please come in clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

### Painting Process

1. Paint the Shinkansen colors on the Akabeko's face and body in order.
2. Paint the sides of the neck.
3. Draw the eyes and nose.
4. Draw the car body patterns on the body.

*You can take home the painted Akabeko on the same day!

### Notes

*Paint will be used, so if it gets on your clothes, it may not come off.

*The estimated time is a guide.
