Under this collaboration, the two companies will align in the areas of battery manufacturing, technology development, and field service inspection to advance initiatives including the development of next-generation probes and the provision of integrated services to improve battery cell quality. Furthermore, Waygate Technologies will utilize Liminal's EchoStat inspection system for inline inspection applications in mass production environments, acting as a preferred channel and integration partner for battery gigafactories and other battery-related customers.

## Driving Yield Improvement and Cost Efficiency Across the Battery Lifecycle

By combining Waygate Technologies' industry-leading position in industrial CT and radiographic inspection with Liminal's proprietary real-time ultrasonic AI analysis technology, the partnership provides inspection capabilities across the entire lifecycle, from cell manufacturing to module assembly and field service.

In the radiographic and CT fields, it utilizes CT systems for quality assurance and failure analysis in laboratory environments, R&D-grade nano CT for cell development and material characterization, and high-energy CT for battery pack and module-level inspection. Additionally, Waygate Technologies' Krautkrämer product line offers a wide range of ultrasonic solutions, from phased array electronics to advanced beamforming algorithms and custom-designed probes for industrial applications.

Through joint development with Liminal, the combination of Waygate Technologies' proprietary array probe technology and signal processing electronics with Liminal's EchoStat hardware platform and AI analysis layer will realize a next-generation inline ultrasonic testing (UT) platform equipped with high sensitivity and robustness suitable for production line environments.

By leveraging X-ray CT as ground truth data and combining inline screening ultrasonic inspection with feedback coordination to process data via machine learning, manufacturers can achieve early response to defects, reduce scrap in final processes, and optimize processes based on data.
