Life Design Kabaya Co., Ltd. (HQ: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture), as part of a joint venture with Ben Architecture Design Co., Ltd. (HQ: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture), completed the design and construction of the "Misaki Town Iioka Community Center" in Iioka, Misaki Town, Kume-gun, Okayama Prefecture, and handed over the facility on March 31, 2026. The facility, which includes an adjacent fire station, is a complex aimed at promoting interaction among local residents and strengthening disaster prevention functions.
The completion ceremony was held on May 17, 2026, and the facility began operation on the same day.
Taking advantage of its location adjacent to the "Tsukinowa Tumulus" at the summit of Mt. Taihei, the facility is designed around the theme: "Iioka's Shining Future Spinning the Thoughts of Tsukinowa - Creating an Exchange Hub that Inherits History and Weaves New Bonds for the Future." Based on the spirit of the "Tsukinowa Method," which has been passed down as the history of Iioka, Misaki Town, the center aims to be a hub that fosters cooperation among residents and the succession of culture.
Built on the former site of Iioka Elementary School, the facility was planned as a multi-generational learning space by regenerating a location etched with regional memory. The exhibition space within the facility is scheduled to display items such as eaves-end tiles that prove the existence of the ancient "Iioka Temple," discovered during archaeological surveys conducted prior to this development project, honoring the historical and cultural background of the land.
In addition, a fire station is situated on the same site, providing a hub that supports regional safety and security. By providing spaces for casual interaction, the center aims to encourage daily use and contribute to the revitalization of the local community.
The completion ceremony held on May 17 was attended by Misaki Town Mayor Koyo Aono, local residents, and related parties to celebrate the completion of the new regional exchange hub. Additionally, the Mayor presented a letter of appreciation to the joint venture responsible for the design and construction of the facility.
