Kyorin University School of Medicine's Suginami Hospital will host a public lecture for the general public as detailed below.

Many patients visiting the otolaryngology department suffer from nasal congestion. But what are the underlying causes of nasal congestion? Possible causes include the common cold, allergic rhinitis (affecting approximately one in 2.5 Japanese people), nasal polyps due to anatomical issues or sinusitis (sinus infection), and even tumors developing inside the nasal cavity. Prolonged nasal congestion can impair the sense of smell and disrupt sleep and daily life. This lecture will explain these conditions in an accessible manner, supplemented by actual surgical video footage.
