SKE48 Natsuki Kamata to Release First Aquarium Children's Book on June 26; Events Set

Kumon Publishing Co., Ltd. will release 'Asking an Aquarium Expert: 37 Discoveries That Will Definitely Make You Want to Go,' co-authored by SKE48 member Natsuki Kamata and aquarium expert Minoru Shimomura, on June 26, 2026. The book is priced at 1,600 yen (plus tax), contains 144 pages, and is aimed at middle-grade elementary school children. The cover features illustrations by Japan Monkey Centre keeper Ryuhei Ano. To celebrate the release, commemorative handover events and panel exhibitions will be held. Handover events will be hosted on June 28 at Junkudo Bookstore Nagoya, July 18 at TSUTAYA EBISUBASHI in Osaka, and July 19 at magmabooks in Tokyo, with ticket sales starting June 6, 2026. A panel exhibition featuring a lottery for signed panels will take place from June 26 to July 19, 2026, across multiple venues including Junku-do Bookstore Nagoya, Maruzen Nagoya Honten, magmabooks, and TSUTAYA EBISUBASHI. Co-author Minoru Shimomura has over 30 years of experience in aquarium husbandry, having worked at Kaiyukan and served as director of Kyoto Aquarium before becoming the director of the Japan Monkey Centre in April 2024.
