KUL Co., Ltd. (CEO: Shigeru Yoshida), in collaboration with e-stadium Co., Ltd. (CEO: Hiroyuki Kato), will host the educational virtual event "Town Building with Minecraft!! ~Summer Independent Research 2026 for 1,000 Elementary School Students~" from July 18 (Sat) to August 16 (Sun) of this year.
Now in its fourth year, this event is held under KUL's slogan "Designing 'Comfortable Living'" with the aim of "childcare support" and "next-generation development" as part of efforts to solve regional issues. By providing opportunities for children in the community to healthily interact with and learn digital technology, it also aims to resolve the "regional gap in digital experiences," which has become a new challenge.
The event utilizes the world-famous game "Minecraft" to create a virtual space modeled after the Izumi-Chuo Station area in Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture—where KUL's shopping center "Ecole Izumi" is located. By allowing children to freely build the "house they want to live in in the future," the event creates a "learning" opportunity to nurture each child's power of "imagination" and "creation." Participants can treat this event as their summer independent research project, and after completion, report-style data will be sent to them for submission to their schools.
Last year’s third event saw 1,044 elementary school students participate, exceeding the target and achieving a high satisfaction rate of 98% in the post-event survey. Parents shared encouraging feedback, such as, "I’m grateful to be able to see the growth in the structures my child builds every year," and "This event is worth participating in even if there were a fee." With many children participating year after year, a massive "town" filled with hope and reflecting the growth and thoughts of each individual child is completed in the virtual space. We intend to continue holding this event every year and remain a partner that supports children's growth.
