Keiei Sanbo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku, Tokyo; CEO: Kenji Shintani), which operates the business leader community "Sanbo," will host a networking event for educators titled "Networking Event for Those Involved in Elementary, Junior High, and High School Education" on Monday, April 6, 2026, at its "Sanbo BAR Hamamatsucho" venue. The guest speaker will be Kazuma Maeda, representative of the NPO Terakoya, which has gained attention for its free learning support initiatives utilizing vacant corporate office spaces.

Background of the Event

Currently, Japan's educational landscape is burdened with complex issues such as the "educational gap" and the increasing workload on school staff. To resolve these issues, it is essential to look beyond school-only discussions and foster collaboration between NPOs, corporations, and local communities to explore new forms of learning.

Leveraging the network of the "Sanbo BAR," where business leaders and experts gather, this event aims to provide a "space for co-creation." By bringing together educators from various backgrounds, we hope to share real-world challenges and inspire actionable steps for the future.

Representative, NPO Terakoya

Born in 1992. After graduating from Keio University, he worked as a private school teacher. While achieving success in guiding students with low academic scores to top-tier universities, he became acutely aware of the educational gap caused by family economic circumstances and decided to go independent.

In 2021, he launched the "Terakoya Activity," providing free learning environments for high school students by utilizing vacant corporate offices and restaurants on their closed days.
