Kyoto Research Park to Hold 'KRP Fest 2026' – An Innovation Festival Where People, Town, and Technology Converge

Kyoto Research Park Co., Ltd. (President: Mitsuo Asano, hereinafter 'KRP'), which operates the Kyoto Research Park (located in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, hereinafter 'KRP District'), will hold the district's largest innovation festival, 'KRP Fest 2026,' over two days on Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25.

■ About 'KRP Fest 2026'

Every year, 'KRP Fest' concentrates events organized by companies, public institutions, and universities, each leveraging their respective strengths, primarily within the KRP District and surrounding areas. 'KRP Fest 2026,' held over two days on Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, will be themed around 'People,' 'Town,' and 'Technology.'

This year's highlight is the 'Tech Meetup' on Friday, July 24, themed around 'Technology.' This program allows researchers and engineers from companies and institutions residing in the KRP District to interact through poster displays and technology introductions. It will be held in the same area as a special AI-themed program (with approximately 200 participants) organized by KRP on the same day, aiming to foster technology exchange across industry and organizational boundaries and create new collaborations.

Other programs include an individual intellectual property consultation session for entrepreneurs and startups, a research成果発表会 (presentation of research results) by industrial support organizations, a lecture on cybersecurity measures for business professionals seeking new developments, and even science programs useful for summer vacation independent research projects and workshops to learn about SDGs for children. It will be two days where everyone—from researchers to entrepreneurs, and from children to local residents—can be the main character.

Through 'KRP Fest 2026,' KRP aims to provide an opportunity to integrate and disseminate the technologies, knowledge, and ideas concentrated in the KRP District and surrounding areas, and to create innovation as a science park open to the region, companies, and people.
