This acquisition marks the first such certification in Hokkaido and the first nationwide for a bank-owned head office.

[Certification Results] ResReal Certification

Hokuyo Odori Center: GOLD ★★★★ (Very High Resilience) Hokuyo Building: SILVER ★★★ (High Resilience)

ResReal Certification is a real estate resilience evaluation system administered by the Japan Real Estate Institute as the certifying body. It comprehensively and quantitatively evaluates properties, including not only hard aspects such as location and building performance against natural disasters, but also soft aspects such as disaster stockpiling systems and the implementation status of disaster prevention drills. The flood version operation certification acquired this time primarily evaluates external flooding due to river overflow and internal flooding caused by heavy rainfall in urban areas. Furthermore, the earthquake version certification is currently undergoing review for acquisition.

The "Hokuyo Odori Center," which houses the Hokuyo Bank Head Office, received the "GOLD (Very High Resilience)" certification grade. This was due to a comprehensive evaluation of initiatives including the planning of major infrastructure such as electrical and communication facilities, the deployment of flood control equipment, and the regular implementation of disaster prevention drills, encompassing the operational aspects of the building. This objectively demonstrates the business continuity considerations and disaster response capabilities required of a bank head office. Additionally, the "Hokuyo Building," completed in 1976 and celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, was evaluated for ensuring sufficient practical flood countermeasures as an existing building, and acquired the "SILVER (High Resilience)" certification.

Hokuyo Bank and Koyo Real Estate will continue to work on maintaining and improving real estate disaster response capabilities and business continuity under their respective roles, providing even greater safety and security to the local community and tenants.
