Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. announces that second-year high school students from its KONAMI e-Sports Academy will participate as creators in the development of the 'Hokuso Four Cities Metaverse' in Chiba Prefecture.
KONAMI e-Sports Academy, which promotes Z-generation digital talent development as its educational philosophy, will collaborate with the Japan Heritage Hokuso Four Cities Edo Journey Utilization Council in the field of education.
The 'Hokuso Four Cities Metaverse' is an e-sports and metaverse tourism initiative jointly developed by the Japan Heritage Hokuso Four Cities Edo Journey Utilization Council and GamingV Inc. The project recreates the Edo-period townscape of Chiba Prefecture within FORTNITE.
Set in the four cities of Hokuso, the project aims to merge e-sports with cultural heritage by enabling immersive experiences in a metaverse environment that recreates Edo-era streetscapes. By using games as an accessible entry point, it seeks to spark youth interest in history and culture, create new tourism demand among younger generations, and contribute to regional economic revitalization.
Students who have acquired skills through UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite) courses at KONAMI e-Sports Academy will participate in this project. The initiative aims to provide students with a practical platform to apply their learning and showcase their abilities in real-world projects.
KONAMI e-Sports Academy will offer experiential classes where participants can play the 'Hokuso Four Cities Metaverse' in FORTNITE during its open school events. Participation is highly encouraged.

GamingV Inc. (e-Sports Team VAMOS)
GamingV Inc. operates the e-sports team 'VAMOS' and also engages in regional revitalization projects utilizing games and the metaverse.
The e-sports team 'VAMOS' has achieved numerous results in domestic and international tournaments in FORTNITE and aims to make 'e-sports a part of Japanese culture,' focusing on the development of competitive scenes and next-generation talent.
In recent years, the company has expanded beyond competitive activities to focus on regional revitalization initiatives that promote local history and culture through games, advancing the planning and production of metaverse spaces in collaboration with municipalities and local organizations.
For this 'Hokuso Four Cities Metaverse' project, GamingV aims to recreate the historical assets and townscape of the four Hokuso cities (Sakura City, Narita City, Katori City, Choshi City)—designated as Japan Heritage—within FORTNITE, creating a new tourism experience that allows users worldwide to engage with the region's charm through gaming.
Additionally, GamingV actively creates opportunities for youth participation in production. By involving students from KONAMI e-Sports Academy as creators in actual regional revitalization projects, the company aims to build a new talent development model that integrates 'education,' 'regional revitalization,' and 'metaverse.'
