Konami Digital Entertainment, through its KONAMI e-sports Gakuin, announced the launch of the "Daiichi Gakuin High School e-sports online course," set to commence in April 2027. This program allows students enrolled in Daiichi Gakuin High School's various courses (Basic, Standard, Premium, and Mobile HighSchool) to participate in online e-sports classes from home, complementing their regular studies. The curriculum emphasizes practical learning in e-sports and gaming, aiming to equip students with valuable experiences and skills ("Gakuchika") for future university entrance exams and job interviews. The course will offer instruction in games such as "FORTNITE" and a "popular FPS" title, delivered by professional e-sports coaches and players. The program spans three years, with classes held twice a week for two 60-minute sessions from 16:00 to 18:00. Each enrollment phase has a capacity of 40 students. Eligibility requires students to be enrolled or planning to enroll in Daiichi Gakuin High School and possess a home internet environment, a PC capable of running the chosen game, and Discord. Online joint information sessions are scheduled for April 29, 2026, May 17, 2026, and June 14, 2026. Enrollment for the course will open in two periods: Phase 1 from June 1, 2026, to August 31, 2026, and Phase 2 from September 1, 2026, to December 23, 2026.
