Knock on Door Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Hiroomi Hayashi) is pleased to announce that its epilepsy seizure and medication management app, "nanacara" (Nana-kara), has celebrated its 6th anniversary since its service launch in March 2026.

Six years ago, nanacara was born at an event venue held in conjunction with Purple Day, the global epilepsy awareness day. Since then, we have continued to shape the desire of those involved with epilepsy to "convey" their thoughts, together with many people across various positions, including patients, families, specialist doctors, as well as caregivers, welfare providers, government, educators, corporations, and organizations.

Starting with encounters with just a few patients and their families, and a single epilepsy specialist doctor, and through in-depth meetings, nanacara has fortunately grown to over 40,000 users. The service for doctors, "nanacara for Doctor," has 517 specialist doctors registered, and 294 medical institutions have adopted it. We sincerely thank everyone who has created and supported us on this 6-year journey.

Entering our seventh year, we are challenging ourselves to move from the stage of "managing records" to a new phase where we can "better convey" the accumulated records for appropriate care and treatment. Aiming for a future where each individual's daily life changes for the better, nanacara will continue to evolve without stopping.

What is Purple Day...

Today, March 26th, is Purple Day, an awareness day to deepen understanding of epilepsy worldwide. This initiative began in 2008 from the wish of Cassidy Megan, a 9-year-old girl in Canada at the time, to tell people with epilepsy, "You are not alone." Currently, various events are held in cities around the world, along with actions to wear "purple items" as a message of support. For nanacara, March 26th is also a special day. Six years ago, nanacara was born at the venue of this Purple Day event.

Launch of "Summary Feature" for Better Communication During Consultations

As a major update (Version 6.0) to make records easier to understand and "better convey" during medical consultations, we have released the "Summary Feature," which allows users to consolidate and review seizure, physical condition, and medication records for any chosen period. Records can be organized by period, making it easier to look back at a glance.
