This work is a medical entertainment drama depicting the struggles of doctors who unconditionally save pregnant women who have nowhere to turn. I am deeply honored to be involved in the production of the new Wednesday drama 'First Cry: Mother and Child Emergency Medical Unit' as a supervisor for obstetrics and gynecology.

This drama is an ambitious work that deeply delves into social issues such as the 'isolation of pregnant and postpartum women,' which has recently come to light, by saving pregnant women who have nowhere to turn. Through our daily consultations at 'Obstetrics & Gynecology Online,' we listen to the voices of young women and pregnant/postpartum individuals facing anxiety and work to provide support in cooperation with local governments when necessary. We strongly resonate with the main theme of this drama.

About Daisuke Shigenmi, Representative of 'Obstetrics & Gynecology Online' and Certified Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the Japan Medical Specialty Board

A specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, with a Master of Public Health and a Ph.D. in Medical Science. He joined the Company in 2017 and has served as the representative of 'Obstetrics & Gynecology Online,' operated by the Company, since 2018. While conducting research and writing papers on remote health and medical consultation, he actively disseminates information and provides explanations to solve social issues related to sex education and obstetrics and gynecology through lectures at schools and government offices, media appearances, and social media (X: @Dashige1).

Career

Born in Tokyo. After graduating from Nippon Medical School in 2010, he completed his initial clinical training (obstetrics and gynecology program) at the Japan Red Cross Medical Center. He completed the Graduate School of Public Health, The University of Tokyo in 2018. He completed the Ph.D. program in Social Medicine at the Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo in 2022 (Clinical Epidemiology and Economics).
