Kewpie Corporation (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Mitsuru Takamiya; hereinafter Kewpie) is adopting new designs for its jar mayonnaise featuring "Tom and Jerry," in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. The 3rd series (Spring/Summer) designs will be released nationwide starting in April, and the 4th series (Autumn/Winter) designs will be released from autumn onwards.
Kewpie has been selling jar mayonnaise since 1925, the year Kewpie first manufactured and sold mayonnaise in Japan. Since 1995, in addition to regular products, designs featuring widely beloved characters have been adopted, with characters changing every 2 to 3 years. Many customers enjoy decorating their homes with the limited-edition jars as interior decor after use, making it a long-loved product.
"Tom and Jerry," popular animation characters born in the United States in 1940, will celebrate their 85th anniversary in 2025. The first and second series of designs were released in 2025 when they first appeared on jar mayonnaise. In the second year, the 3rd and 4th series designs, incorporating seasonal vegetables and enjoyable dining scenes, will be introduced.
