* The "Livability Ranking" accumulates responses from 5 years (2022-2026). However, if the number of respondents for a municipality or station does not meet the criteria with the cumulative data from 2022-2026 (less than 50 respondents for municipalities, less than 30 for stations), responses from 2021 are also accumulated. If the criteria are still not met even with the addition of 2021 data, responses from 2020 are accumulated, and if still insufficient, responses from 2019 are accumulated. There is no overlap in respondents.

* The "Desirable Towns (Station) Ranking" compiles rankings for stations in the Tohoku area based on responses from Miyagi Prefecture residents in 2026. The "Desirable Towns (Municipality) Ranking" compiles rankings for municipalities nationwide based on responses from Miyagi Prefecture residents in 2026.

* In the "Desirable Towns Ranking," administrative wards are aggregated into a single municipality, but Sendai City's administrative wards are compiled separately.
