* The "Livability Ranking" aggregates responses from 5 years, from 2022 to 2026. However, if the number of respondents for a municipality or station does not meet the criteria with the cumulative data from 2022-2026 (less than 50 respondents for municipalities, less than 30 respondents for stations), responses from 2021 will also be included. If the criteria are still not met after adding 2021, responses from 2020 will be accumulated, and if still insufficient, responses from 2019 will be accumulated. There is no overlap in respondents.
* For the "Desirability of Towns (Station) Ranking," rankings are compiled based on responses from Hokkaido residents in 2026 for stations within Hokkaido. For the "Desirability of Towns (Municipality) Ranking," rankings are compiled based on responses from Hokkaido residents in 2026 for municipalities nationwide.
* In the "Desirability of Towns Ranking," administrative wards are aggregated into a single municipality, but Sapporo City's administrative wards are compiled separately.
