Key Highlights of the Livability Ranking: Moriya City, Ibaraki Prefecture, ranked 1st for the 8th consecutive year. Tokai Village, Ibaraki Prefecture, ranked 2nd for the 6th consecutive year, and Yoshioka Town, Gunma Prefecture, ranked 3rd for the 2nd consecutive year.
Moriya City's top ranking is attributed to its high transportation convenience, reaching Akihabara in as little as 32 minutes, making it a highly regarded commuter town. It scored highest in 'daily convenience,' 'transportation convenience,' and 'friendliness.'
Key Highlights of the Desired Residential Area Ranking: The 23 wards of Tokyo ranked 1st for the 5th consecutive year. Tsukuba City, Ibaraki, ranked 2nd, and Takasaki City, Gunma, ranked 3rd.
Survey Overview: The survey was conducted via the internet among registered monitors of Macromill, Inc. It targeted 39,726 men and women aged 20 or older living in the Northern Kanto region (Ibaraki, Tochigi, and Gunma) between 2022 and 2026.
