KEIPE Co., Ltd., based in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, which operates the nouto factory direct store, has partnered with Kiyosato Milk Plant, the only raw milk processing facility in Yamanashi Prefecture. Together, they are launching new fruit gelatos on April 28, 2026, which incorporate whey (milk serum) that is generated during cheese production and often goes unused. The gelatos are flavored with Yamanashi-grown peaches and strawberries. Whey, which constitutes about 90% of raw milk during cheese making, is rich in high-quality protein, essential amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. The collaboration aims to transform this nutritious byproduct into a valuable product. The Japanese dairy industry faces significant challenges, with the number of dairy farmers drastically decreasing from approximately 420,000 in 1963 to an anticipated 9,960 by October 2024. This product seeks to raise consumer awareness of these issues through its appeal. The "Nora Jealousy" series includes "Momomomo" (peach flavor) and "Ichichigo" (strawberry flavor), priced at 450 JPY for a single and 550 JPY for a double, available year-round at nouto factory direct store starting April 28, 2026. The peach flavor will initially use 100% Yamanashi peach juice, transitioning to Yamanashi "off-spec peaches" from July 2026, while the strawberry flavor already uses Yamanashi "off-spec strawberries." Promotional activities include a "Makimaki Machine" for self-serving gelato and "Rainbow Bagel-gake" for topping. The nouto factory direct store will also hold its 1st-anniversary event from May 2nd to May 6th, 2026, featuring special offers and the "Momojaguchi" peach juice dispenser.
