Kawaijuku Gakuen (Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture; Chairman: Hideki Kawai), a school corporation under the Kawaijuku Group, will hold school information sessions for Dalton X Gakuin High School—a new nationwide correspondence high school scheduled to open in Ichinoseki, Iwate in April 2027*1—from July to August in seven cities across Japan: Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka. The sessions will directly introduce parents and students to the school’s unique educational programs, including inquiry-based learning conducted at domestic and international regional hubs, the school’s defining feature.

Introducing Japan’s First Educational Model: “Correspondence + Full Boarding + Domestic/International Inquiry Learning”

Dalton X Gakuin High School (hereinafter “Dalton X Gakuin”) will open in April 2027 as Japan’s first high school to implement the educational model*2 of “correspondence + full boarding + domestic/international inquiry learning.” Its most distinctive feature is regional inquiry learning, beginning in the third semester of the first year, where all students leave the classroom to stay for three months each at selected domestic and international regional hubs. Through real-life interaction and collaboration with local communities, students will engage in identifying and solving real-world challenges.

*2 Based on internal research: First in Japan as of June 2026 among correspondence high schools with full boarding that conduct inquiry learning while staying at domestic and international hubs

The school information sessions will be held in person from July to August in the seven cities: Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka. At these sessions, Dalton X Gakuin will directly explain its educational philosophy and unique curriculum—including its signature inquiry-based learning—to students and parents. On August 5, attendees in Tokyo will have the opportunity to tour the Tokyo Campus (TOKYO NTT BASE) and the dormitory.

This is a valuable opportunity to address questions and concerns from middle school students and parents about school life, curriculum, admissions, and dormitory living. We kindly request media coverage.

Japan’s First! Dalton X Gakuin Practicing “Correspondence + Full Boarding + Domestic/International Inquiry Learning”

Dalton X Gakuin High School aims to cultivate students who “explore with their own feet, encounter the extraordinary, and co-create frontiers.” To achieve this vision, the school features a learning model inspired by Minerva University in the United States.

The school’s hallmark—immersive inquiry learning—will be conducted during the third semester of the first year, with students staying at multiple regional hubs domestically and internationally. Academic subjects will be studied online, while students engage in fieldwork on location.

During their first year (semesters 1–2) and third year, students will spend one semester each at the Ichinoseki Campus in Iwate Prefecture and the Tokyo Campus in Chofu, operated by NTT East Japan under a partnership agreement with the Kawaijuku Group, deepening their learning experience.
