Kawade Shobo Shinsha (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director Yu Onodera) released "Collective Heroes Birth: Shotaro Ishinomori Manga First Chapter Collection," a Kawade Bunko original anthology, on May 7, 2026. This collection compiles the "first chapters" of hero manga by Shotaro Ishinomori, who created teams to fight evil, starting with "Cyborg 009."

This anthology features a selection of 13 works depicting heroes who fight evil as a team, ranging from media-dominating titles like "Cyborg 009" (Shotaro Ishinomori's life's work), "Himitsu Sentai Gorenger" (the first in the Super Sentai series), the epic story "Genma Taisen" (original work by Kazumasa Hirai, later adapted into an animated film), "Rainbow Sentai" (created with Fujiko Fujio Ⓐ and Fujiko F. Fujio, allies from the Tokiwa-so era, and adapted into a TV anime), and the sci-fi film "Message from Space" (for which Ishinomori was one of the original concept creators), to the phantom episode of "Future Rescue Team Asgard 7," which was planned for animation but never realized. The collection even includes valuable, never-before-seen illustrations for "Future Rescue Team Asgard 7."
