This volume compiles 157 pieces of criticism and essays written by Kazushige Abe, a leading figure in contemporary Japanese literature, over the 32 years since his debut.

In 1997, I designed the cover for Kazushige Abe's novel 'Individual Projection.' It was my first-ever book design job, and a memorable project for which I bought a camera and took my first photographs.

Since then, I have designed several of Mr. Abe's books. Each project was a stimulating experience that allowed me to challenge myself with new ideas while maintaining the tension of visualizing his literary world.

I am very happy to have been able to design this massive volume, which covers Mr. Abe's essays and criticism from the 1990s to the present. I don't think I will ever design a book of this thickness again, before or after this. Honestly, I think we've made a really cool book!
