The Japan Environmental Management Association for Industry and Packaging (JEMAI; Chairperson: Miyoko Tanaka) will continue its 'Adopt-a-Program Subsidy System,' which has been in operation since fiscal year 2012, for the current year.

Background As interest in social sustainability grows, Adopt-a-Program subsidy activities are building a foundation for achieving sustainable resource use and environmental conservation through waste reduction, the promotion of recycling, increased environmental awareness, and collaboration between local governments and citizens at the community level.

These initiatives play a vital role in promoting a circular economy that keeps resources in circulation.

To date, JEMAI has provided subsidies to a total of 945 organizations, including those newly participating in the 'Adopt-a-Program' and those seeking to enhance or expand their existing adoption activities. JEMAI will continue to provide these subsidies this year.
