Kaname Project Inc. (Headquarters: Aichi Prefecture, Director: Taichiro Endo) provided support for the construction and trial of a feedback system utilizing generative AI in the research study "Research Study on the Construction of a Feedback System Intended to Improve Learner Performance" (hereinafter referred to as "This Study"), conducted by the Education DX Department of the Saitama Prefectural Comprehensive Education Center.
The purpose of this research is to improve the quality of reflection in teacher training by providing "individually optimized feedback" generated by AI, tailored to the content of each participant's description, and to verify its technical and educational effectiveness. This initiative aims to transform "one-way reflection that merely involves answering" which has been a challenge in conventional training, into "two-way learning" through dialogue with generative AI.
## Overview of the Saitama Prefectural Comprehensive Education Center and its Education DX Department
The Saitama Prefectural Comprehensive Education Center is a training and research institution, formerly known as the Saitama Prefectural Institute of Education, established in Showa 23 (1948) with the aim of improving the qualifications of faculty and staff and the quality of education.
In recent years, aiming to build the "New Japanese-style School Education in the Reiwa Era," the center has actively engaged in various initiatives based on the introduced "New Teacher Training System," focusing on three pillars: research and development, training, and educational counseling.
The Education DX Department at the Center promotes "transformation" in educational activities by utilizing ICT (digital) technology and presenting advanced examples of desired learning/school operations, thereby assisting in the promotion of DX in schools and the development of DX personnel.
## Overview of Kaname Project's Support in This Research
Kaname Project Inc. provided support in the following areas through participation and consultation in the research study meetings (system construction and technical verification):
* Design and development of the generative AI feedback system
* Application to specialized training (Education DX Department Specialist Training)
* Measurement of the effectiveness of generative AI feedback system utilization, and summarization of future challenges, etc.
The developed generative AI feedback system was built on the foundation of Kaname Project's existing AI feedback system.
Furthermore, we provided support for the trial implementation in the specialized training (Education DX Department Specialist Training) and verification of the technical and educational effectiveness of generative AI providing feedback on the reflections written by participants.
As a result of a survey conducted among participants regarding the appropriateness of the feedback, an acceptance rate of 3.3 (out of 4 points) was confirmed through participant evaluation.
Additionally, the following qualitative effects were confirmed:
* Consolidation of learning content and deepening of introspection
* Improvement in learning motivation through individualized support
* Stimulation of learning continuity and development
* Fostering awareness towards the promotion of Education DX
Kaname Project Inc. intends to continue collaborating with educational institutions and others to promote Education DX utilizing AI and other technologies.
