Kamakura Shinsyo Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Fumio Kobayashi; Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime: 6184; hereinafter "the Company"), a provider of various services related to "end-of-life planning (shukatsu)" amid the backdrop of a super-aging society, signed an "End-of-Life Collaboration Agreement" with Kamagaya City, Chiba Prefecture (hereinafter "Kamagaya City") on July 13, 2026. The Company will support residents and municipal staff through end-of-life awareness activities and the establishment of a dedicated consultation hotline, contributing to building communities where people can live with peace of mind.

Background of the Agreement

The Company supports individuals in leading fulfilling lives by operating internet and publishing businesses centered on "end-of-life planning." Through customer support centers and portal sites, it aims to provide one-stop solutions for various end-of-life-related concerns.

In today’s super-aging and high-mortality society, local governments routinely handle consultations regarding caregiving, funerals, and post-death procedures. However, information on inheritance and grave sites remains insufficient, presenting numerous challenges.

In response, the Company has leveraged its expertise cultivated since its founding in 1984 to launch public-private collaborative initiatives with local governments in 2021, aiming to resolve residents’ issues related to end-of-life planning and memorial services. Through jointly publishing materials such as the "Okyami Handbook" and "Ending Notebook," and supporting the setup and operation of "Okyami Corners," the Company supports the creation of communities where people can live securely in a super-aging society.

Kamagaya City has been actively enhancing information provision and support systems to help citizens proceed with end-of-life planning with peace of mind. The Company has now signed an "End-of-Life Collaboration Agreement" with Kamagaya City to further support citizens and improve the quality of end-of-life-related services.

Specific initiatives under this agreement include the joint distribution of end-of-life support booklets such as the "Ending Notebook" and "Shukatsu Benri-cho," the co-hosting of end-of-life seminars, and collaborative information dissemination.

Furthermore, the Company will provide more comprehensive and multi-layered support to Kamagaya City residents through the establishment of an "End-of-Life Consultation Hotline" staffed by specialists, as well as seminars and training sessions for citizens and municipal staff.
