About the "Parent-Child Skin Care Study Session"
In recent years, while more families are showing interest in body hair care for children, many parents are struggling with how to care for their children's delicate skin while protecting it. Company Introduction / "NadezoriTM" Product Introduction
First, Keiko Kurita from Kai Corporation's Marketing Division introduced Kai Corporation's overview, as well as the product features and development background of "NadezoriTM". Kurita explained, "Nadezori was developed with the aim of being an item that even children using a razor for the first time can use easily. By moving it in a circular motion as if stroking the skin, it can care for unwanted hair on the arms and legs, making it a product that is easy to incorporate as a first step in body hair care."
She also stated, "We hope that when children feel 'concerned about hair,' it will serve as an opportunity to talk with their parents about changes in their skin and bodies, rather than worrying alone. We would also be happy if body hair care could become an opportunity for parents and children to face the child's feelings and skin condition, rather than just a time for hair removal." Furthermore, she shared her passion for the product, saying, "We want to deliver options that allow children to start comfortably without being overly afraid, by providing them with correct information and aligning with their feelings."
Talk Session Regarding "Concerns about Children's Skin Care"
Next, Dr. Yuki Shiomi, Deputy Director of Shonan Jinbei Dermatology Clinic, took the stage for a talk session. Regarding the timing to start body hair care, Dr. Shiomi advised, "Instead of making a uniform judgment based solely on age, it is important to first check how much the child themselves is concerned and whether their current skin condition is suitable for care. Instead of immediately denying it by saying 'it's too early,' asking 'What are you concerned about?' and 'Since when have you been concerned?' can make it easier for parents and children to talk."
Regarding redness, itching, or dryness, she pointed out, "It is important not to push it. Children's skin can be easily irritated, so deciding to 'let's skip it today' is also important skin care." She added, "Body hair care is not just about the moment of removal; preparing the skin before and after is also important. Dry skin is more susceptible to irritation, so it is safe to consider the entire process, including cleaning without rubbing and moisturizing after care."
Regarding the concern that "shaving makes hair thicker," she explained, "Shaving does not make the hair itself thicker." She further elaborated, "After shaving, the cut end of the hair becomes flat, so it may appear thicker or feel thicker when it starts to grow. It's better to think of it as a change in appearance rather than an actual increase in hair." Regarding medical hair removal, she concluded, "Children are still growing, so even if they undergo hair removal, hair may grow back later. It is important for parents and children to talk about what the child is concerned about and how much they are concerned."
"NadezoriTM" Usage Demonstration
Kurita demonstrated the unique grip shape that fits in the palm of the hand and explained, "It is important to use on dry skin, as wetting the skin can cause the hair to lie flat and make it difficult to shave." She introduced the unique shaving method of moving in large circular motions and appealed for a care method that reduces burden on the skin, saying, "You can shave hair with gentle pressure, as it is designed to shave without pressing hard against the skin."
Please note that this product is for arms and legs only, and should not be used on other areas.
Upon hearing this demonstration, Dr. Shiomi commented, "From a dermatologist's perspective, the most important thing when actually using a tool is not to put too much strain on the skin." She highly praised the usefulness of the product's "skin-friendly design."
"NadezoriTM" Exhibition Booth
At this event, an interactive exhibition booth was set up where parents and children could vote on their concerns and honest thoughts about "children's body hair care." Visitors to the booth participated in voting while discussing with their children their concerns about when to start body hair care, skin condition, and proper care methods.
The voting did not lean towards any particular opinion. Positive comments such as "I want to teach them right away because I struggled with it myself" were mixed with anxieties like "I'm worried about injuries" and "I'm unsure when to teach them," as well as hesitation such as "Maybe they don't need to shave yet." The results showed a uniform distribution of votes across all options. The results offered a glimpse into the diverse ways of thinking and real-life struggles that vary from family to family, and provided a valuable opportunity for the parents and children gathered at the booth to face each other's true feelings.
"NadezoriTM" Key Features
Product Name: NadezoriTM
Price: 1,100 yen (tax included)
Release Date: May 11, 2026 (Mon)
1 Safety
Two resin guards on the blade ensure that the blade does not easily come into contact with the skin*2. While the blade is less likely to touch the skin, the height of the contact surface between the blade and the guard against the skin is almost unchanged, allowing for effective hair removal. The resin guard is also "comb-shaped," making it a safe structure that is less likely to cause cuts even if it slips sideways.
*2: An unprecedented pentagonal shape + comb blade shape designed with safety in mind (Design Registration No. 1793973).
2 Ease of Use
It is easy to shave in any direction, allowing for hair removal with a stroking motion. With conventional T-shaped razors, "with-the-grain shaving" along the direction of hair growth was recommended for minimal skin damage. However, with Nadezori, you can shave in any direction without worrying about the direction of hair growth, without damaging the skin.
3 Anywhere
Conventional T-shaped razors require the use of shaving foam or well-lathered soap. However, Nadezori can be used without wetting the skin or applying anything, allowing for hair removal anytime, anywhere, whenever you notice it.
