JX通信社 (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Katsuhiro Yoneshige; hereinafter "the Company"), a news venture promoting disaster prevention DX, will sequentially roll out significant updates to the disaster prevention weather information features of "FASTALERT," a risk information service developed and provided by the Company. As the first phase, we have today released a new feature for immediate map rendering of tsunami information (Major Tsunami Warning, Tsunami Warning, Tsunami Advisory) and the identification of potentially affected locations.
Overview of the Update and Background of Implementation This update implements the following features: *The images shown are examples displayed with data from the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
Real-time Visualization of Tsunami Information (Disaster Map) * Based on information announced by the Japan Meteorological Agency, coastlines of target forecast areas are color-coded and displayed on the map. * When warnings are upgraded, such as to a "Major Tsunami Warning," differential information is also presented for accurate understanding.
Pinpoint Awareness through Location Function * Automatically extracts registered company locations or business partners within the affected areas, categorized by warning type (determined at the municipal level). * The list can be sent via email to specified recipients.
The risk information service "FASTALERT" is widely used as a risk information gathering tool for BCP (Business Continuity Plan) operations and SCM (Supply Chain Management). However, we have received feedback that it is difficult to specifically identify "which locations will be affected" by widespread weather warnings (such as tsunami information). For example, regarding tsunami information accompanying the earthquake off the Kamchatka Peninsula last year, we heard that while the announcement was widespread and prolonged, it was difficult to narrow down the actually affected locations. To solve such issues, FASTALERT is developing features to support impact assessment during various risk events. As the first phase, we are starting to provide tsunami information visualization features (real-time rendering on a disaster map and automatic extraction for each location). This feature will support rapid initial response to macro-scale major disasters by automatically identifying affected locations. In addition, FASTALERT's characteristic micro-level information, refined by AI and a specialized team based on citizen eyewitness reports from SNS and other sources, is provided in detail with video and location information, enabling concrete decision-making. Going forward, we will continue to support responses to various disasters and risk events by providing functional updates corresponding to the Japan Meteorological Agency's new meteorological disaster information system scheduled for late May, and by strengthening the "Typhoon Information Visualization" feature this fiscal year.
[Special Project] Free Webinar Archive Distribution for Disaster Prevention and Crisis Management Personnel "Japan Meteorological Agency's 'New Disaster Weather Information' — Key Points for Corporate Disaster Prevention and BCP" With the significant changes to the Japan Meteorological Agency's "Disaster Weather Information" scheduled for late May 2026 (Reiwa 8), many companies are urgently reviewing their existing disaster response manuals and the triggers defined for disaster response. To assist companies facing this challenge, JX通信社 invited "Bousai Approach Inc.," which supports corporate disaster prevention activities with realistic video content and members with specialized qualifications, to a free webinar to explain specific response points. In response to the popularity of this seminar, we will be distributing an archive. ■ How to Apply (Archive Viewing) Please apply by filling in the necessary information via the link below.
