JSOL Corporation (JSOL) has signed a reseller agreement with WitnessAI, Inc. (headquartered in the U.S.), a leading provider of AI governance solutions. The 'WitnessAI' product is a platform that supports risk management and control for the use of generative AI, AI applications, and AI agents, protecting user companies from new risks such as 'prompt injection' that arise with the spread of generative AI and autonomous AI agent activities. JSOL will further integrate this with its original integrated CSIRT service, 'J’s ARMOR™'※1, to achieve comprehensive AI control utilizing its expertise in security operations.

In recent years, while the business utilization of generative AI and AI applications has rapidly expanded, new threats such as the use of shadow AI and shadow AI agents, and prompt injection, have brought to light the risk of confidential information being processed in ways unintended by users. This has made it a realistic challenge that input data may be unexpectedly utilized, potentially leading to violations of laws, industry guidelines, and internal policies. Especially for companies, where AI utilization is required to comply with compliance, internal controls, and industry guidelines, simply introducing generative AI as a tool is insufficient to prevent unofficial AI use or unauthorized input by users. Therefore, establishing an effective AI governance system that includes continuous monitoring, thorough operational rules, and incident response is crucial.

WitnessAI is an AI governance platform that visualizes the usage of generative AI and AI applications, comprehensively supporting policy-based control, risk detection, and compliance. With functions such as 'Discover' for real-time visualization of AI applications used within the organization, 'Protect' for defending/protecting against inappropriate prompt inputs/outputs and attacks, and 'Control' for governing policy application based on departments, roles/permissions, it enables safe AI usage within the organization, including protection for AI agents in addition to user-driven AI control.

Based on our extensive consulting and implementation track record in various security solutions, we offer consulting services for this solution, from pre-assessment to design, implementation, operation, and control management. Furthermore, by combining it with our integrated CSIRT service 'J’s ARMOR', it is possible to realize a safe AI utilization environment by leveraging standardized security operation know-how and rules in daily operational tasks necessary for AI control, such as risk detection, monitoring, and incident response support in AI utilization.

JSOL plans to position AI governance as a business domain and aims for 1 billion JPY growth by 2030. Specifically, we will deploy AI governance solutions that support the formulation of generative AI usage rules, risk management, operation, and monitoring for a wide range of industries including manufacturing, finance, and life sciences. Concurrently, in our existing security business, 'Security for AI' for safe AI utilization and 'AI Governance' as a mechanism for control and management based on AI utilization will be important reinforcement themes.

By working together with our parent company, NTT Data Corporation, which has also signed a reseller agreement with WitnessAI, the entire group will support the realization of an environment where companies can confidently incorporate AI into their operations and continuously promote digital transformation.

Industries that are key to JSOL, such as pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and finance, are major areas where AI utilization will further advance, and at the same time, they are susceptible to threats and risks caused by AI.

We believe that collaborating with JSOL, which has high expertise in the security business, is an important and meaningful initiative to further accelerate business development in the Japanese market.

We are very much looking forward to further enhancing the reliability of AI utilization together with JSOL.
