JR Kyushu will hold an open house event for the Kiha 40 and Kiha 147 series, JNR-era diesel trains that are now rare nationwide. This is a valuable opportunity to see JNR-era diesel trains gathered at the Nagasu Rolling Stock Center, where many are still in active service. We encourage you to participate.
(1) Event Overview

2. Venue
JR Kyushu Nagasu Rolling Stock Center (Move after reception at JR Kyushu Chikuho Sasaguri Branch; approx. 10-minute walk)
3. Main Contents
* Four or more Kiha 40 and Kiha 147 series trains will be exhibited. * Visitors will be guided to tour the driver's cab of a Kiha 40 series train (one of the exhibited trains). * Demonstrations of engine startup, headlight illumination, and whistle blowing will be performed.
4. Participation Fee
Adults (junior high school students and above) and children (elementary school students) pay the same fee: 9,800 yen.
* Elementary and junior high school students require accompaniment by a guardian (reservations for the number of people). * High school students and above can participate alone, but those under 18 must have parental consent. * For safety reasons, children under elementary school age cannot participate.

30 people for both Part 1 and Part 2.

(3) Cancellation and Participant Change Policy
Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 5:00 PM, 8 days prior to the participation date. No cancellations or refunds will be accepted after this time. Participant changes are not permitted; please cancel and rebook.
* Identification documents will be required at the reception on the day of the event. If the participant information differs from the reservation, you may be refused entry. Please be aware of this in advance.
(4) Important Notes for Participation
Participation will be denied if you do not arrive at the reception time.
For safety, please follow the instructions of the staff. Participation will be refused if you engage in or appear to engage in behavior that threatens safety. In such cases, the participation fee will not be refunded.
Photography of the trains is permitted, but unauthorized photography in restricted areas is strictly prohibited.
Please enjoy viewing the trains within the designated viewing areas on the day of the event. Viewing from outside the designated areas is not allowed.
There are areas with uneven footing. Participation is not permitted for those wearing flared skirts, high heels, sandals, or platform shoes. Also, please be aware that clothing may get stained with oil, etc.
If rain is expected, please bring your own rain gear such as a poncho or raincoat. Umbrellas cannot be used inside the venue.
Some event details may be changed or canceled due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather. (The event will proceed in light rain.)
Exhibited trains may be changed due to operational reasons. Please understand this in advance.
We are not responsible for accidents or injuries caused by customer carelessness, or for damage or soiling of clothing or personal belongings.
Wheelchairs and strollers cannot be used for safety reasons.
There are no smoking areas or restrooms within the rolling stock center.
Eating and drinking are prohibited within the rolling stock center, except for hydration.
Large luggage such as stepladders cannot be brought in. Tripods and selfie sticks are also prohibited.
