Promoting the Charms of Shinshu's Nature, History, Culture, and Food! Boosting the Shinshu Destination Campaign Pre-Campaign

JR East Nagano Branch and its group companies will hold special events to broadcast the charms of Shinshu's "nature," "history/culture," and "food" in conjunction with the "Shinshu Destination Campaign Pre-Campaign" (hereafter referred to as the Shinshu Pre-DC), to be held from July to September 2026. With the desire for people to know Shinshu, including lesser-known spots and experiences that can only be had in Shinshu, we have prepared a wide variety of events. Please enjoy the charms of Shinshu this summer.

1. Shinshu Pre-DC Opening Ceremony

(1) Opening Ceremony and Departure Ceremony

As a commemorative event, a ceremony and departure ceremony will be held at JR Nagano Station. There will be a performance of "Zenkoji Kiyari," an intangible cultural property of Nagano City, and a departure ceremony timed with the departure of the group-exclusive temporary train "Shitteho Shinshu-go."

Using the Joyful Train "HIGH RAIL 1375," we will operate a Shinshu Pre-DC opening special train where you can thoroughly and leisurely enjoy Shinshu, including its scenery and food.

2. Shinshu DC x Traveling Kita-Shinano Marche

The "Traveling Kita-Shinano Marche," which has been held at Tokyo Station since fiscal year 2024, will be implemented with an expanded number of participating municipalities and vendors. Using the JR East Group's train luggage transport service "Hakobyun," seasonal flavors from Nagano Prefecture will be delivered to Tokyo Station, broadcasting the charms of Shinshu through taste and fostering momentum for people to visit Shinshu.

The "Suwa Shinano-go" (383 series), a collaboration between JR Central and JR East, will operate as a group-exclusive temporary train between Nagoya Station and Chino Station.
