Wine and Cider Event and Local Sake Set Sales in Nagano

As a special project for the ongoing "Gather! Station Sake Part 6" campaign, the JR East Nagano Branch will host a special event to enjoy Shinshu wine and cider on Wednesday, April 29 (National Holiday) at Hotel Metropolitan Nagano. Additionally, in collaboration with JR East Cross Station, local sake sets will be sold at NewDays Nagano and NewDays Matsumoto Meihinkan. 1. Implementation of the "Shinshu Wine & Cider Pairing Event with a Sommelier" We will hold a pairing event featuring wine and cider from five wineries in the prefecture participating in "Station Sake Part 6," accompanied by Japanese-style appetizers that highlight the essence of Shinshu. The event will include wine tasting, a lecture by a sommelier certified by the Nagano Wine Association, and talks by staff from each winery. (1) Date and Time: Wednesday, April 29, 2026, 12:00–14:00 (Reception starts at 11:30) (2) Venue: Hotel Metropolitan Nagano, 2nd Floor "Azusa" (Directly connected to Nagano Station) (3) Content: ① Tasting of 6 types of wine and cider from 5 participating wineries; ② Pairing with event-exclusive Japanese appetizers; ③ Lecture by Mr. Junya Hanaoka, sommelier from the Nagano Wine Association; ④ Talks by winery staff on winemaking and product characteristics. Participating wineries include Il Fait Beau, Sun Vision, Sun Sun Winery, and VINVIE. (4) Capacity: 50 people (Minimum of 35 participants required) (5) Sales Site: Sold via JRE MALL Ticket Nagano Branch store (https://event.jreast.co.jp/activity/detail/a009/a009-20260429). JRE MALL membership registration is required for purchase. (6) Price: 8,500 yen (tax included) per person. Participants must be 20 years or older as this event involves alcohol. (7) Sales Period: Friday, March 27, 2026, 16:00 to Friday, April 24, 2026, 13:00 (8) Benefit: Participants will receive a pamphlet with two "Station Sake Part 6" stamps already applied. If the minimum number of participants is not met, the event may be canceled. The final decision on holding the event will be made around Tuesday, April 14.
