What is the STELLA DANCE JAM (SDJ) project?
STELLA DANCE JAM (SDJ) is a special dance performance project organized by the Japan Foundation to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines in 2026. It features a collaboration between RIEHATA and SB19.
Who is eligible to audition for the STELLA DANCE JAM?
The audition is open to aspiring young dancers from both Japan and the Philippines who are considered the next generation of talent.
Where and when will the auditions in Japan take place?
The workshop audition in Japan will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at SPACE LOV3 in Shibuya, Tokyo. There will be two sessions: 12:00-15:00 and 16:00-19:00. Applications are accepted from April 6 to May 3, 2026.
Is there a fee to participate in the audition?
No, the audition participation fee is free.
What costs are covered for selected participants who perform in the Philippines?
The event organizer will cover the travel expenses to the Philippines and local accommodation costs for the selected dancers.
What happens after the audition?
Selected candidates must attend three practice sessions in Japan and will perform in the main event in Manila, Philippines. They must also participate in practice sessions the day after the audition.
