Trip.com Group, a global online travel service provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Visa, a world leader in digital payments, through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
This initiative aims to enhance travel experiences for consumers across the Asia-Pacific region by leveraging Visa’s global payment network and Trip.com Group’s extensive ecosystem. Travelers will benefit from personalized recommendation features, access to exclusive deals, and seamless payment experiences throughout their journeys.
Trip.com Group will also become a global anchor partner for 'Visa Destinations,' an experiential global program managed by Visa. This program provides cardholders with curated travel experiences based on cultural and local insights, enabling travelers to plan journeys around what truly matters to them.
As an anchor partner, Trip.com Group will integrate 'Visa Destinations' into its own ecosystem to offer attractive travel benefits and personalized offers to a wide range of consumers. Furthermore, Visa and Trip.com Group will launch joint marketing and promotional campaigns in targeted markets to encourage discovery of aspirational travel destinations and experiences worldwide.
Additionally, both companies are exploring further cooperation for fast-growing segments in the Asia-Pacific region. This includes investigating new ways for Trip.com Group users to access premium benefits through Visa’s global partnerships in sports, music, and lifestyle, as well as providing exclusive Trip.com Group benefits for Visa Infinite cardholders. Both companies will continue to work closely to further expand regional travel demand.
This partnership comes against the backdrop of a recovering travel market in Asia-Pacific, marked by significant digital advancement. According to Visa’s 'Global Travel Intentions (GTI) 2026' study:
- Approximately three out of four (72%) respondents plan to travel within Asia in the coming months, with one in four planning a trip to Japan. - Digital payments have become the norm for travelers in the Asia-Pacific region, with 73% using credit cards or mobile wallets while traveling. - 92% have recently planned or researched travel online, and 49% are leveraging AI tools to discover destinations and travel ideas.
