Cloudera K.K. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and Executive Officer: Yuji Yamaga), the sole company that provides AI to data everywhere, announced the commencement of services for its "Workflow Data Fabric Zero Copy Connector for ServiceNow." This solution is a new integration that seamlessly connects hybrid data lakehouses with intelligent workflows, enabling secure and real-time execution of autonomous AI without the need for costly data replication.

Many companies rushing to fully implement AI face a fundamental challenge: data. Despite significant investments and clear strategies, they still struggle with accessing, integrating, and governing data across fragmented environments. In fact, approximately 80% of companies report that insufficient access to data is a barrier to AI utilization. Against this backdrop, there is a growing demand for new architectures that leverage AI directly where data resides, without moving the data.

This connector enables companies to query data directly in its existing storage location without moving it. This eliminates traditional data movement processes while maintaining strict security and governance standards. By eliminating “data movement tax,” it avoids data pipelines, reduces costs, and suppresses redundant storage. At the same time, it ensures compliance with regulations such as the EU AI Act, DORA, and HIPAA by keeping sensitive data like PII (Personally Identifiable Information), PHI (Protected Health Information), and PCI (Payment Card Information) within a protected hybrid environment.

Leo Brunnick, Chief Product Officer (CPO) at Cloudera, commented: “For enterprises to truly scale and deploy autonomous AI, the ability to prove the basis for decisions is indispensable. Without this traceability, safely deploying AI agents and meeting regulatory requirements is impossible. This is critically important for CISOs, CDOs, and CAIOs, who are responsible for risk, security, and compliance, especially as AI transitions from proof of concept to production.”

Pramod Mahadevan, Vice President of Data & Analytics Product Ecosystem at ServiceNow, stated: “Cloudera plays a crucial role in eliminating data silos by aggregating curated, processed, and reliable enterprise data onto a single governance platform. Leveraging these high-quality insights drives intelligent automation and workflows, enabling closed-loop remediation. This allows companies on the ServiceNow AI Platform to quickly identify, respond to, and resolve issues with greater efficiency and reliability.”

This initiative builds upon a strong partnership forged in 2025 when ServiceNow joined Cloudera's AI partner ecosystem. Further developing this collaboration, the newly offered "Workflow Data Fabric Zero Copy Connector for ServiceNow" allows all AI-driven actions to be linked to original data without moving sensitive information. As the first connector to achieve hybrid-native "true zero-copy AI governance" integrated with ServiceNow, it enables companies to drive large-scale AI operations while ensuring the control, compliance, and reliability required for production environments.

Yuji Yamaga, Regional Vice President and President and Executive Officer at Cloudera, commented: “Even for Japanese companies, fragmented data and governance challenges remain significant barriers to full-scale AI utilization. Through this collaboration with ServiceNow, an environment where data can be safely utilized at its location without data movement will be established, removing barriers related to data usage and enabling more rapid and flexible decision-making and business sophistication. This is expected to enable our customers to steadily promote AI implementation and large-scale operations while ensuring compliance and security.”
