BROMPTON JAPAN Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo) will hold a special art project "Brompton × Stephen “ESPO” Powers Art Exhibition at Brompton Tokyo" from Saturday, July 18, for a limited time at Brompton Tokyo. The project is a collaboration with artist Stephen “ESPO” Powers, who is active internationally in diverse expressions such as graffiti, sign painting, and fine art, with the theme of the freedom and creativity gained by exploring Tokyo by bicycle.
This collaboration was realized due to the resonance between Brompton and "ESPO's" values, not only because "ESPO" is currently based in Jingumae, Tokyo, where Brompton Tokyo is located, but also because of his approach of enjoying bicycles as part of his lifestyle, seeing them as a means to new encounters and discoveries in the city, and his perspective on creative engagement with urban environments.
"ESPO," who has observed the city of Tokyo and expressed its landscapes and relationships with people in his work, uses bicycles as his primary mode of transportation and enjoys them as part of his lifestyle, even owning vintage bikes. "ESPO's" perspective, which views bicycles as an environmentally friendly means of transportation and a tool for new encounters and discoveries in the city, naturally aligns with Brompton's brand philosophy of "exploring the city freely and creating new discoveries."
In this project, Brompton Tokyo's interior will serve as a canvas for newly created artworks by "ESPO," inspired by Brompton's global slogan "Life Unfolded." These works, themed around the joy of freely moving through the city and new connections between people and the urban environment, express Brompton's brand philosophy that transcends mobility and culture.
"ESPO" Month
From Saturday, July 18, to Monday, August 17, for one month, Brompton Tokyo will be transformed into a temporary "ESPO Gallery," with the entire store adorned with "ESPO's" art. Furthermore, limited collaboration items such as T-shirts and tote bags will be unveiled. Special items featuring artwork created by "ESPO" for this project will be exhibited and sold.
In addition to original artworks, including a grand wall art created for this exhibition, works from "ESPOKYO" in Jingumae, Tokyo, will be specially displayed. Through various artworks, a special space will be created where the charm of Tokyo as perceived by "ESPO" intersects with the lifestyle of enjoying the city freely proposed by Brompton.
Additionally, an event titled "ESPO's Tokyo Stamp Rally" will be held during the period. Starting from Brompton Tokyo, participants will visit spots in Tokyo recommended by "ESPO" and take photos at each location. Those who photograph all spots and present images of all visited locations will receive an original novelty item exclusive to this collaboration. This event allows participants to experience the joy of exploring the city with Brompton while engaging with the scenery and culture of Tokyo that "ESPO" encounters daily on his bicycle.

Daisuke Yano, Country Manager, BROMPTON JAPAN Co., Ltd.
"Brompton is not just a means of transportation, but a tool to make people's lives freer and richer.
"ESPO" is also an artist who has continued to express freedom and creativity through bicycles. This project is an attempt to propose a new urban experience by bringing together art and mobility. I look forward to Brompton Tokyo becoming a place where art and community intersect for a month."
Stephen “ESPO” Powers
"I usually travel around the city by bicycle. Bicycles are not just for getting to a destination; they provide an opportunity to observe the city and notice people, scenery, and small everyday occurrences. Such casual moments and the relationship between people and the city are important inspirations for my work. I felt that Brompton's concept of 'Life Unfolded' shares common ground with my own creative stance of freely exploring the city and creating new discoveries and connections. I hope that through this exhibition, people will enjoy the city of Tokyo from a new perspective."

It is utilized as an urban mobility solution, combinable with various modes of transport such as train commutes and storage in car trunks. Brompton is a B Corp certified company, part of an international community that evaluates corporate activities based on social and environmental considerations and transparency.
