Jmty Inc. Signs Reuse Agreement with Tomakomai City, Hokkaido

Jmty Inc. (hereafter, 'our company'), which operates the local information site 'Jmty' (hereafter, 'Jmty'), has signed a reuse agreement with Tomakomai City, Hokkaido (hereafter, 'Tomakomai City') to carry out reuse awareness activities aimed at reducing waste. To date, our company has signed reuse agreements with 295 municipalities nationwide, working towards the realization of a sustainable society through reuse awareness and waste reduction.

Objective of the Agreement

Tomakomai City has set 'Promotion of household waste reduction' in its Basic Plan for General Waste Management, positioning 'Promotion of reuse' as a key initiative. While they have promoted the reuse of large-sized garbage through sales at the JFE Recycle Plaza Tomakomai, they faced challenges with limited exhibition space and the need for visitors to be physically present. To further promote reuse, they have decided to sign an agreement with our company.

Activities (as of April 1, 2026*)

We will raise awareness among residents about the option of 'giving away instead of throwing away' on Tomakomai City's official website, the 'Koho Tomakomai' newsletter, and other channels to improve reuse consciousness and thereby suppress waste disposal.

Furthermore, an official Tomakomai City account will be created on Jmty to disseminate information from the city, including reuse, to a wider range of citizens.

Our company will continue to strengthen reuse promotion in collaboration with municipalities, aiming for the realization of a sustainable society. We welcome inquiries from municipalities nationwide that are motivated to reduce waste and promote reuse.
