Jimoty, Inc. (hereinafter "the Company"), which operates the local information site "Jimoty," has signed a reuse agreement with Niyodogawa Town, Kochi Prefecture (hereinafter "Niyodogawa Town") to promote reuse and reduce waste. The Company has currently signed reuse agreements with 288 local governments across Japan, working toward a sustainable society through reuse awareness and waste reduction.
Purpose of the Agreement
In its Basic Plan for General Waste Management, Niyodogawa Town has established policies such as "promoting measures based on the 3Rs" and "promoting the provision of information" to carry out various waste reduction activities. While the total amount of waste has been decreasing due to factors like population decline, the town has identified an increasing trend in bulky waste as a challenge. Consequently, they have entered into this agreement with the Company to further promote reuse.
Activities (As of March 26, 2026*)
The town will promote the option of "giving away instead of throwing away" through the official Niyodogawa Town website and the public relations magazine "Niyodogawa," aiming to raise awareness of reuse and suppress waste generation.
Furthermore, the town plans to create an official account on Jimoty to disseminate information about the town, including reuse initiatives, to more residents.
The Company will continue to strengthen reuse promotion in collaboration with local governments to realize a sustainable society. We welcome inquiries from local governments across the country interested in waste reduction and reuse promotion.
