JFE Engineering Wins Multi-Product Pipeline Capacity Enhancement Project from Petronas Group

JFE Engineering Corporation (President: Kazumi Fukuda; Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) announces that its Malaysian subsidiary, JFE Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. (hereinafter "JFEEM"), has been awarded a project for basic and detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a pipeline capacity enhancement project from PS Pipeline Sdn. Bhd. (hereinafter "PSP").

PSP is a joint venture company established by Petronas Dagangan Berhad, a subsidiary of Malaysia's state-owned energy company Petronas, and Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd.

This project involves installing a booster pump at a branching point (red dot on the map) in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia, on the 130km multi-product pipeline (hereinafter "MPP") operated by PSP. This order is the largest single contract received by JFEEM since its establishment.

The MPP targeted by this project was constructed in 1996 by Nippon Kokan K.K., a predecessor of JFE Engineering, to stably and efficiently supply multiple petroleum products from a refinery in the Malacca area to the Klang Valley area (near Kuala Lumpur) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (hereinafter "KLIA") via a single pipeline. The booster pump to be installed is a pump to enhance (boost) the flow rate of petroleum within the pipeline.

The JFE Engineering Group has handled numerous EPC pipeline projects both domestically and internationally. Leveraging its extensive track record and advanced technical expertise cultivated over the years, the group will execute this project. JFEEM aims to further expand its business by capitalizing on this order and will continue to contribute as a key partner supporting the sustainable development of Malaysia's energy sector.
