JFE Engineering Corporation

JFE Engineering Corporation (President: Kazumi Fukuda, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "the Company") will invest 25% in two waste treatment and power generation companies established by Antony Lara Enviro Solutions Private Limited, a subsidiary of Antony Waste Handling Cell Limited (Chairman: Jose Jacob Kallarakal, Headquarters: Maharashtra, India, hereinafter "AWHCL"), a leading waste management company in India. This marks the Company's entry into concession projects in India, making India the second country after Vietnam for its overseas waste power generation business. This is the first investment and business participation in India's waste power generation business by a Japanese construction and engineering company.

The Company and AWHCL have concluded 20-year waste treatment concession agreements with the United Andhra Pradesh Regional Local Government Federation and the Swachh Andhra Corporation through the following two project companies:

1) Kadapa Renew Energy Pvt. Ltd.

2) Kurnool Renew Energy Pvt. Ltd.

Based on these agreements, design and construction of the two waste-to-energy plants are scheduled to commence in FY2026, with completion and operation planned for FY2028. Each plant will accept up to 1,000 tons of general waste per day, of which 750 tons will be incinerated and converted into clean energy. The power output will be 15MW, and the generated electricity will be sold to Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL), contributing to stable regional power supply and the improvement of the urban environment.

The design, procurement, and construction of both plants will be undertaken by JFE Engineering India Pvt. Ltd. (hereinafter "JFEE India"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company. This will be the first waste-to-energy plant design and construction project in India for the Company's group. Since its establishment in 2011, JFEE India has honed its skills on a wide variety of waste power generation projects both in Japan and overseas for the Company. Its EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) services, leveraging its accumulated technology, were highly evaluated, leading to this contract. JFEE India will continue to undertake projects for waste-to-energy plants not only within India but also overseas.

By integrating AWHCL's operational know-how and track record cultivated over 25 years in India's waste management sector with the Company's technical capabilities in the construction and operation of waste power generation plants, we will reliably execute this business.

Going forward, the JFE Engineering Group will promote the planning, construction, and operation of projects in this field in markets both in India and abroad, and through collaboration with like-minded local developers, contribute to the realization of a resource-circulating society.
